Our Facility

Situated in the picturesque landscapes of Debord, Kentucky, the Inez Power Activated Carbon Plant stands as a testament to innovation and sustainability. The impressive 12-acre site, which was formerly an active surface coal mine operation, has been fully reclaimed and repurposed for our industrial facility.

By-product gases generated when creating the activated carbon are used to power turbines onsite to generate electricity. We have installed a first of its kind electrical activation furnace as opposed to a conventional natural gas fired furnace. This allows the entire facility to be powered by the electricity we generate onsite, which reduces our greenhouse gas emissions compared to traditional facilities. Our facility represents a significant leap forward in environmental responsibility and resource utilization.
